Poems, story, song: telling the story of the people and places of the Highlands has long been my passion.
I have been interested in folklore, song and language for as long as I can remember, and performing even longer than that! Much of my creative work examines the language, people and places of Easter Ross, the area I grew up in and where I have chosen to live, work and raise my own family. Although I have huge respect for the origins and traditions of the songs and stories of the area, I do not believe these to be historical relics, and I enjoy reinterpreting some of the old stories through a modern lens. I enjoy using sound, video, photography and performance alongside poetry and storytelling, creating dynamic and multifaceted pieces that audiences might experience in different ways.
